Ciao Famiglia Gusto!
First, just to reiterate: we’re closed on Tuesdays for the month of March. We promise it’s temporary, and it’s all in the spirit of growth. Thank you for giving us this small window to breathe, plan, and build what’s next.
As many of you know, Nick is still in Italy soaking up knowledge, wisdom, inspiration, and that beautiful Italian perspective. He’s preparing to amplify Gusto and begin a new chapter for us. When he comes home, we won’t just have stories; we’ll have action.
We’re getting ready to launch start-to-finish cooking classes at our location in the old Piccolo Market! Immersive, hands-on experiences where you’ll cook the entire meal alongside us. We’re also refreshing our menus, refining recipes, and making thoughtful changes that honor tradition while keeping Gusto evolving! We'll have more information for you soon!
This Sunday is Festa della Donna! Also known as International Women's Day, the first official Festa della Donna took place on March 8, 1946, organized by the Union of Italian Women following World War II to highlight women’s contributions and the ongoing fight for rights, including the right to vote. That same year, activists Rita Montagnana and Teresa Mattei chose the yellow mimosa flower as its symbol. It was chosen because it was affordable, bloomed in early March, and represented resilience, freedom, and strength — appearing in humble, untamed patches across Italy. In Italy, Festa della Donna is celebrated with gifts to the important women in your life, celebrating sisterhood, and many businesses offering discounts and free admission to women!
To celebrate, we’ll have special mini mimosa cakes available — light, joyful, and bright like the flower itself. Bring a woman you admire. Celebrate your mother, sister, daughter, friend, or simply honor yourself!

Looking ahead to warmer days… please don’t forget to book your summer events with us! This year we’re bringing even more of Tuscany to you. Alongside our beloved pizza truck, we’re offering to bring our grill to your events. Woodfire pizza, sizzling grilled meats, fresh vegetables kissed by flame; the full feast, right at your celebration! Weddings, graduations, backyard parties; we’d love to be part of your story!
Finally, while we’re refreshing the upstairs at Gusto this spring, we realized something: Gusto Market deserves some love too! And we had a question: What would you like to see updated or changed about the Makret? The best suggestions will earn points on your Gusto Rewards account, but more importantly, they’ll help shape the future of your neighborhood market! Click the button below to provide your feedback!
Thank you for growing with us and thank you for giving us grace while we build!
Buon Appetito
Elena & Nick
